Apparently Dish was a victim of a cyber security breach and as a result most of their services are down. Employees can't use their VPN, customers can't sign up, and I'd assume can't do other things at this time. Must be a real shit show in that DevOps department. Id be miserable trying to recover the system for five days and still be unsuccessful. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/02/28/dish-network-confirms-network-outage-was-a-cybersecurity-breach.html
Bro, it’s chaos. Employees can’t log in to internal resources, can’t activate new customers, can’t accept payments. The call center is down. Main website is down. You name it.
Wow man that sounds like a nightmare. Are employees just using PTO at this point? Like what are you supposed to do? Closest thing I experienced to this is when AWS was down for 24 hours a few years ago
People were sent home and anyone who can WFH is doing it. No word on how management is going to solve this yet. Paychecks were distributed last Friday, not sure how’s going to work for the next period. Luckily, some work can get done because it is supported by 3rd party apps/solutions like AWS, Salesforce, etc
This is why they lost or will lose Sunday Ticket
That’s DirecTV, not Dish. Different company, although they probably should merge since people are moving away from satellite.
