Get the Tesla if you don't have one already while it's on sale, you will need the full self driving to make your life much easier
Do the opposite of this
My friend from Livermore has a commute of 1.5-2 hours to Santa Clara during rush hour. It’s only an hour without traffic.
I commute from Livermore to Fremont. 27-30 min. Going to San Jose downtown without traffic is be about 40 min. Without traffic. With traffic, 40 min in the morning and 50min return. The two way lane is almost finished, so should cut another 10-15 min each way. People usually exaggerate it. Just buy a house.
It’s from Fremont the traffic picks up because everyone merges there. Easily 1+ hour during the rush hours. Many are doing it though
How are schools in that area
Pretty good. Livermore is open school district
It also depends on where in Livermore. I stay close to 84 so it's about 35 min to Santa Clara off peak and 1-1.15 hr during peak. If you are looking near Springtown etc then those extra 15 mins feels a lot.
We bought in livermore last Dec. husband goes to office one day a week, I wfh. Husband travels to Santa Clara for work. He avoids rush hour and takes 40-45 minutes. Commute is way easier when you buy in southwest Livermore which is close to I-84. We have a 4 year old and this year she’s starting at Sunset Elementary for TK which is ranked 9/10. We love the options for family activities here. Library is awesome. Many parks, open spaces and trails. The community we bought in is picturesque and upscale. Very nice and high-quality neighbors (academics, business owners, investors and corporate 9-5s). One of the prominent scientists in this country currently in her 90s live across the street in our court. So I’m definitely enjoying the diversity and vibe here a lot. Meanwhile, downtown is very nice, many great events, and we’ll lit in the evenings. Can’t rave about it enough.
Thank you for detailed comment.
Where does your wife work that she can be remote?
