facebook team selection
hi all, I'm a facebook bootcamper, who just started team selection. I received reachouts from teams in: Instagram, Ads business platform, Growth Integrity, Infrastructure R&D, feed and stories. Most of the teams would need Python, PHP or C++ skills, as a 10-year Java backend developer, I'll need time to ramp up. anyone has any ideas about which teams have bad work-life balance, and which teams are more demanding? thanks!
Are there any teams that use Java/Kotlin/Scala ? Is all the infrastructure in C++?
Android teams and some infra teams use java/scala
Java is on the outs at FB infra. It’s going to be all C++ in time.
I joined also with experience mostly on the JVM but had time to ramp up on C++. It's fine and people understand. What's the infrastructure R&D area? I'm in infra and not sure what that would be.
How much time did you have to ramp up? Did you have any prior experience with c++?

Python and PHP are super easy with Java background, not worth trying C++ shit, fb is not a place for u to ramp up.
