Taylor swift? I donāt remember a time when she wasnāt right up there in popularity. Sheās had staying power over other contemporaries like Adele and Katy perry. The nfl, on the other hand: I donāt know when I last saw a headline in my news feed, until swift started dating an nfler. But all stars dip, and Iām sure swift will run out of material at some point
Taylor Swift has built her following by focusing exclusively on teenage girls. Her songs are not suggestive and she never says or does anything that might even remotely be considered controversial. Most parents would be fine with their teenage girls following her and going to her concerts. It's actually a simple and brilliant strategy. The others tend to focus on adults who lose interest much faster or are too busy to follow one artist. Teenagers lose interest in Swift as well but that's alright because there's another bunch of teenagers who have time and parents money on their hands. I find her songs flat out silly but as far as her branding goes, I have to give credit where credit is due.
