^ this. Dating got a million times easier, more fun, and less stressful once I became great boyfriend/husband material. The problem is that people are horrible at judging how good of a husband they would be. If you asked people how good of a husband/wife they would be, the average person would probably way overrate themselves. The other thing to consider is that it’s a market. If you’re in an area with a high ratio of single men to single women, you better be a fantastic guy or your girl might consider leaving you to look for someone else in the area. If customers aren’t buying what you’re selling, it’s usually that the seller isn’t offering as good of a deal as some other seller.
