I am currently on H1b with i140 approved. My H1b is valid till nov and I am traveling to India in aug. I am in process of buying a house but I am worried that what would happen if my visa gets denied and I can’t enter back? Has someone been in this situation? How can I dispose off my property without entering US? Edit: Follow up: Should I apply for a visa stamp in aug (on my trip to India) before buying the house? Thanks
Don’t be pessimistic. Even if they deny, you can always rent or sell with the help of realtor
You need to transfer power or attorney to someone you trust, has a green card or US citizen. If you have a dependent and no urgency of you both traveling together I would suggest he/she leave after you hear from consulate. That way you have sometime here and a person you can trust to get the job done!
It's just a house. If you're not coming back, just let it go.
OP sounds indian. For us its not just a house 😝
What is it for "us" then?
Like you said. Its just a house 🙈
House burning party 🔥
Based on the market, the prices won’t go that high in the next 6 months so I would suggest you to wait till visa things sorted out to make a move. If things work out fine. If things doesn’t work out as planned you’ll be putting lot of your savings on the house and you’ve to deal with your career back in India or other visa options etc., I would rather focus on keeping my savings.
Thanks! I have a valid stamp till November so I can come back on that without restamping, however if I need to be sure I can get try to get a new stamp and then come back so that I can buy a house with confidence. I am not sure if applying for the stamp early might end my American dream earlier than expected..
I can take care of the property, if you want to pay me some $. If not, yolo. Some bum is going to trash your place
Buying a house on H1b is never a good idea

You can sell from anywhere in the world. Either you need to give power of attorney for someone here or work with the US Consulate in your country to execute a sell. Talk to an attorney in the US.
I think you can give Power of Attorney to someone in US and they can handle the transaction on your behalf. I have seen some cases where people were denied entry at Port of Entry even with valid visa. Stop thinking about these edge cases and live happy bro!
Can I do that from outside us ?
