IC6 level but career progression is tough and I work too much. Meaning 11hrs a days.
You’re not going to get a senior manager role coming from IC6. I would recommend joining as Principal engineer and then switch to management. It’ll be easier.
If the inquiry is about the Sr Manager position in Sunnyvale and you are not a manager, the SWE3/Staff Engineer role in Sunnyvale has scope for Principal Engineer.
As far as the range is concerned, its mentioned for the entire level as per the band. Most new hires are given the lowest amount (unless of course you rock the interview or have a competing offer)
One thing not captured in salaries is the equity portion which for that level is a meaningful part of total comp
What is bonus and equity usually??
Performance bonus isn’t a huge part. For my role, meets expectations is usually 10%. But instead of stock, we get these things called LTIPs that convert to cash based on metrics, and vest in 3 years. There are signing/first/second anniversary bonuses to compensate for the first two years. The amount would vary by role, but if you search on Blind, you can see the bonuses can be large.
You mean the anniversary bonuses can be huge? What’s the basis on which people get the bonus
Negotiate and have competing offers? Couple that with a good interview performance and I’d bet that gives you a good chance to get top of the band
