hello, I recently received an offer from snap, and right now i am comparing offers. edit: the original post is me complaing that i dont have housing stipends, but in the end, i still got it :) I am leaning towards Snap’s internship offer, and hope to connect to Snap ppl!
Tbh I think snap's offer is higher than your other offers even without relocation
that is actually not true. I do have an offer (excluding relocation) that is higher than snap without relocation. However, I still go for snap tho because money is not super important to me.
i already leaned towards Snap, but it is this relocation package thing that bothers me.... why would I be treated differently. Unless they are saying that only interns assigned to LA would be qualified for a relocation package, or that I did not perform well enough in interview to receive the relocation package.
Lmfao y’all are ridiculous on this app
OP, any tips on how to get internships? I am starting my search now for summer 2021 internship. Current sophomore at top CS school.
Hi there! I think it’s important to practice Leetcode questions and do side projects!!
Wait what’s a relocation package? Are you referring to the housing stipend?
Yes it is. I think I understand that it might be because I live not too far from the assigned office :)
Actually I was just talking to some interns for next summer .. and they said they live in LA and office is 10 min away but they still got housing stipends... so I think probably my recruiter made a mistake lol
Dude, it's an internship. Save your worries for full time.
Yea I know. Problem solved tho lol
What kind of side projects (and other things) did you have on your resume? I'm finding it hard to get past the resume screen. No prior experience.
class projects, and some projects like making a small LinkedIn or twitter or Instagram could work :)
Thanks for the reply. Was the code 100% yours or did you follow a tutorial etc?
Dude, your internship is not the time to get money hungry. In the grand scheme of your career it doesn’t matter. Don’t risk ruining your snap offer because you want 3k for relocation. It’s not worth it. Just go work at snap, get a full time offer, and enjoy your fat sign on and ridiculous TC
No no, it’s not that I care about the money. It’s more about why I do not receive it while all other interns do. It should be a standard company policy. I would think that Snap does not value me as much as other interns.
Ask your recruiter, but ask gently. Don’t come off as a greedy asshole. Just say you heard other people are eligible for it and are curious if that’s something you are eligible for too. There’s also a chance that the another intern interviewed better and got a different offer. If that’s the case, that’s life 🤷♂️
