Manager II Advanced Analytics @Walmart Offered - 145K base, 8K RSU Location - Austin Remote Any idea how the culture and career growth path is at Walmart ? What does Manager II Advanced Analytics at Walmart mean outside ? I am planning to transition to Product Management after the move, would this move help me get closer to it ? Current TC - 130-150K Yoe - 7
Not that much of a jump, why so? How long on current role?
Location issue with the current role, looking for remote roles
8k dollars or 8k units? Also are they for 1 year or over 4 years?
8k$
Not much of a bump to consider moving. Why don’t you ask them to increase stock? 50k seems reasonable
Also is your current TC in Bay Area?
I guess this is a x3 data analyst kind of role .Also in Walmart data analyst are lower band . I also wanted to do a internal job switch and interviewed for x5 role in that area .Dropped my plan when i heard abt the band . Walmart does not have a high pressure env . Product manager i am not sure this is the right role . Stock vesting every quarter and finishes in 3 years. Every year you will get guaranted refresher
They said this is a level 4 role. Is internal transfer easy ?
They mentioned monthly vesting
What does the title mean ?
Is it possible I can dm you for Intuit referral? Thanks!
This look like is a business role. The stocks are inline with them. If you want to learn retail as a business go for it, it won’t get better… if you wanna grow as tech maybe look more
That title sounds like a people management role? Are you going to be managing people or IC ?
IC
Wait the "Manager II" role is not a manager?
You will work with business org and less with tech org. So you will get less of that product management feel as you will be supporting dashboards not products.
Nikhil, is it possible I can dm you for referral at Walmart?
I am not at Walmart anymore
Walmart is a bit deceptive with the role titles. I had a recruiter call for this role, and they explained that even though the title has a manager in it, you won't be managing people. Just your own projects. Honestly, the offer seems average considering Walmart, but overall, it is on the lower side. I declined to interview with them because I thought they were quite misleading with the title and role in general. If you have a job right now, I would decline this offer and keep on interviewing. Good luck
Depending on the industry, "manager" can easily mean project or process manager. It's not too misleading. I would probably stay away from their financial services group, they got hit with an FTC lawsuit last year.
Yoe?
