How shit is Robert Bosch?

A friend of mine recently joined Robert Bosch. The company has year end shutdown in the last of week the year. But hear me out. They deduct number of leaves from the individual employee leave balance. So it’s like they are sending employees on leave mandatorily. My friend doesnt have leave balance as he has joined recently. So they are telling him it’s going to be loss of pay for him. Lol. Wtf is this?

Siemens does the same, but deduct from future leaves if balance isn't sufficient. Siemens Healthineers even have a 2 week shutdown period! Half of the casual leaves go into this.

This should be illegal af. I never heard any complaints about these policies till date.

It is my previous company, work culture was good within most of the projects. Nobody was bothered about the leaves, so people would go on vacations without even applying or taking any prior permission. So this wasn't a hindrance, but official rules sucked.

Its a service based company that doesn’t value employees. One my friends use to work there.

This is not true. I just joined bosch and there is no shutdown, infact company paid holidays from 24th to 2nd. Only 3 days in between are working and no one is forced to take leaves

last week of year counts as holiday pay here( atleast i think)

Not my experience. Comp package just changed. All PTO is given at the beginning of the year. It was accrued before 2024. Holiday shutdown is also no longer a holiday and given as PTO to use anytime instead.
