just want to spread some good vibes around the holidays. this interview process is brutal and getting rejected around the holidays doesnt feel good. some of us are already down around the holidays due to family, careers, etc. and getting turned down for your dream job just makes things worse. i was pretty down this morning after dealing with a bad interviewer last week that was a total jerk, got rejected this morning by a top pre-ipo company even though i answered all of the questions corectly (learned that its not just about being right) and started to question my intelligence and worth. then i got news that i passed my google interview and am getting scheduled for an onsite. so many of us get rejected for silly arbitrary things that are outside of our control. its just life. so many factors go into these interviews. i think its important to keep in perspective that these are the hardest interviews in the world and its a learning proces. life is never as bad as it seems and never as great as it seems. its somewhere in the middle. keep your head up and keep chasing your dreams! have a wonderful week and an even better holidays!
True that!! Good luck on your Google interview!!
Getting rejected is never easy, but gets easier with each rejection. You’re also right about the factors outside of your control, which mainly condenses down to whether the interviewer thought you got the right thought process and wants to work with you. I had one lunch recruiter at Google tell me he passed a guy cause he liked his thought process, even though he didn’t solve the question.
Stay Cisco with me
Right on. Love the message, and good luck on your G onsite!
