I noticed recently job ads being spammed on LinkedIn and I think they are scams, or at least tricks. They all have different company names that have keywords like "IT Solution" or some random ass name. Then the job descriptions are like 99% identical and its always the same bio with "experts in connecting you with your desired talent and excellent opportunities in the market waiting for your development' ... "helped FAANG companies find talent blah blah". I included images below of examples. Are these legit or scams? TC: 72k YOE: < 6 months #tech #swe #software #linkedin
Comp is low on these anyway. Shoot for the stars and look for jobs that pay better.
I feel like those are lies. Those are your "promised" salaries after you get onboarded for "training" and sign contracts. and i think you have to pay them as well or sign away x% of your salary for x years
I mean at those salaries, who’s even going to apply?
desperate new grads? i almost got tricked with Revature, until I saw the contract that had to be signed that says they get x% of my salary and also control my life.
These are high demand jobs for people coming from a VERY SPECIFIC STATE in a very specific country. They have a very bad work ethic and can do anything to stay in the US and not work.
What kind of contracts are you talking about? Is it even legal to force someone to work for a particular employer?
If you sign a contract agreeing to it as part of your employment, then yes. Revature had that. You signed with them, they "trained" you. and then sent you wherever they wanted in the US with a tiny "relocation assistance" payment. You can always opt out, but then you have to pay a huge fee (typically in the 5 digits) because they "trained" you. But i could be wrong, this isn't that at all
Regarding Revature, I have seen that their contracts were like indentured servitude, essentially non-enforceable. And even those who left before their contract was up were not sued by Revature to recoup the "training cost" because they're probably aware that such lawsuits would be thrown out without much deliberation.
There is an interesting episode on the Darknet Diaries about a similar topic.
They are spammed all over LinkedIn and shame that LinkedIn allows these posts to stay up for a long time.
