Just finished my full onsite loops last week for E4 position. After 1 week, recruiters called me to wait for more but also asked about my current level at Google and the last time I was promoted. What does that mean? L4 350k

Just got a call today that I passed HC
Offer incoming! Don’t share your level and prep for negotiations.
Why is it a sign for incoming offer? I actually shared level with them tho as my target level was already E4 at the beginning.
I’ve been asked this kind of question a lot. Out of curiosity, what’s the proper response if you don’t want share level, feels a bit weird not willing to share the level without a good excuse.
