I see Cruise Automation and Rivian with thousands of employees, data companies like Rubrik and Databricks with thousands of employees. Are we expecting a lot more layoffs over the next few years ?
Next few decades
More like centuries
cruise piped 15% this year already
Is that why a recruiter just followed up after ghosting me for months 😆
Are you sure…where did you get this number?
Our sales/support teams are big which kind of makes sense for a b2b enterprise company.
Startup valuation is about to tumble in q2. My friend just sold his company .. in 2021 he got an offer for 6.7million didnt sell, now sold For 1.6million .. well atleast he was able to sell.. There is no way u can taken on debt at 8-10% ..
Keep your eyes on Albertson's. As they go, so will the rest of the tech industry
I’m projecting record revenue for them but a miss on profits.
Vc funding data released !!!q1 2023 is the worst since great financial crisis.. we r just getting started
Agree. Without VC $$$ rolling in to prop up unprofitable companies, a lot of jobs will be lost.
Rubrik and cohesity are walking zombies. If they go IPO their valuation will be what it was in 2019 . Both the companies r growing at less than 20% and they r nowhere close to 75% gross margin. The data back up is commodity tech, most cloud providers will have it soon . They r trying to pitch themselves as cybersecurity companies or data security companies to improve valuations but they don’t have any tech to detect threats. Overall Rubrik is a private equity play.
Bbby and another company filed for chapter 11. Tons of companies r abt to go bankrupt but there is still govt stimulus(1 T) from infra and inflation reduction act… i dont know what will happen!!! basically inflation will run wild, 6 months from now rent and owners equivalent rent goes higher and inflation will be higher
Inflation is already cooling off, rents cannot increase if the underlying asset itself is decreasing in value.
Over the next few months, yes. Next few years, I’m not sure and I don’t think anyone knows. Tech layoffs been contagious between companies, but it hasn’t got to other industries yet. At least not in where I am. Construction is still a circus here and that’s an important industry I’m watching for this recession.
McDonalds had layoffs of corporate workers on Monday, that’s different industry for sure
