A friend approached me to work at the 8x8 Mobile team. Anyone knows anything about this company? TC? Work environment? What they actually do? Looked them up and looks like they have been around for a long time. Their thing is Cloud communication apparently but it’s not clear what is their edge compared to the big players... Should I take a look or just pass?
Thought we were going to talk about squats.
Paying a ton of money for new joinees. Work culture isn’t that great. You can take a look. The management keeps changing their directions every now and then (in my opinion). Bad work life balance for my team. Not sure about the mobile team.
Company is growing fast. A lot of good people joined in last one year and were hired from good companies at good salaries. Company is trying hard to cange the culture and bring in some start up vibe. As company is pretty old and has been there for a while, it has its own challenges but those challenges are being acknowledge d and worked on actively. There is a lot of chance for growth and learn stuff as product is pretty complex. 8x8 owns all of it's tech in multiple areas like telephony, contact center, messaging, video conferencing but has market value far low compared to players which cater to only 1 of these verticals like Ring Central and Zoom. So I would say there is big opportunity here for 8x8.
Mass layoff is going on currently at 8x8, the worst thing is the engineers with the higher package are automatically part of list, which includes high performer as well
Take a look. They offered high TC for me (200+ base with just 4yoe). I did really well on the interview
