Nvidia Interview

Did well on the full loop but I was ghosted after the full round. It’s been 3 months and now got a email from the recruiter that the team is moving in a different direction but they recommended me to other teams within Nvidia. Has anyone had any experience like this before? Does it imply they found a different candidate and the position is closed or they dropped the ball somewhere to give me another chance? TC: 0

Hiring freeze maybe?

Nope, 3months ago, we were hiring like crazy. We hired 2000 people in last qtr.

Doubt it given how they are growing. It’s just bad luck I guess.

Follow up. Our recruiters rarely ghost. You honestly might have fell through the crack. With current hiring spree, I am sure they are overwhelmed.

Still on hiring spree, even with all the tech layoffs happening?

I did and gave up a month back. Then when I checked the company portal, the application status said it is in progress. Interview started in October and full loop finished in January. I get this response in March. When I gave so much time and patience, sometimes luck should favor as well. I hope to hear back when they find a match and I guess it will be a long interview process once again.

Interview process is horrendous. Did 8 interviews over 6 months for 3 sre positions and then interviewer (sre manager of ge force now, not hiring manager) asks me what I have that separates me from other candidates and when I proceed to answer, he cuts me off rudely by saying everyone has those skills. Ok then genius, why did you guys do 8 interviews then? He also never came on video so I was looking at myself talk on camera. Immediately wrote a letter to recruiter asking to withdraw from all future interviews. Microsoft, Google and Meta were much, much better in their interview process.

I agree, nvidia interviews are very disorganized with no proper communication or timeline; however the people (6 people) I had met in my panel were super nice. It’s just too many candidates and they don’t give a fuck!

In that case better focus your efforts on other companies

Yes, I did 3 out of 4 interviews and was ghosted. They are just too overwhelmed with candidates, and they don't take the time to follow up. Just assume that you are not getting the job and keep interviewing with other companies. If you hear from them, then you will be pleasantly surprised

I hate when companies do this. You put so much time and energy in preparing for these interviews. I gave 2 phone interviews and full loop l (6 interviews) at Apple. Everyone was super nice. I was super confident. It’s been a month. There is no response to 2 follow ups. It doesn’t take a minute to send a courtesy note to say that team is moving in a different direction, sorry. You move on. Why keep candidates hanging with a small bit of hope. Shows professionalism of the company and respect in general.
