I recently receive an email from someone claiming they worked at TuneIn and to contact the HR manager via wireapp. I’m 90% sure this is a scam with how untraditional this interview process is, but was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing?
Update: Did the interview over a time span of 3 days via the wire. Didn’t really try with the questions cause the process seemed so unorthodox so if I get the job I’ll bet it’s a scam and if they ask me to buy my own equipment we’ll know it is. But the question is what happens if I decide not to send them the portion of the check back? They just cancel it anyway?
They cancel it anyways and are just out the time spent dealing with you. Fun fact - to cut down on people going farther in the process and wasting more time scammers will purposely have misspellings and weird grammer!
Yeah it surprisingly wasn’t weird
Tunein doesn’t recruit via Wireapp - sorry!
But I just sent them back 1k 😩 I’m kidding, but thank you for the response
Does anyone know how they spoof the email to be @tunein.careers this really intrigues me

I'm curious. Document it here? Probably they will send you a check for like 2k and ask you to buy supplies for 500-1k and send the other 1k back to them. The 2k check never clears and your bank takes the money back. If you sent them money, it's gone.
Yeah that’s the direction I’m seeing this going as well. I’ve read about this scam on multiple pages of the internet
