l5 at amazon vs l3 at google is pretty funny
L5 Amazon<=L4 Google. I got specifically lower levelled due to YOE
Yeah, the levels at Amazon are shifted. L4 is college hire. This is only one level drop.
I would also factor in the team culture and immediate managment.
It's hard to get a sense of culture from an external perspective. All managers have been putting their best foot forward during interviews and chats. No manager has stood out as amazing, but all of them seem like nice people
Don’t go for Uber marketplace, at all cost. What a mess
Uber reminds me a lot of Amazon, 50% love it 50% avoid it like the plague smh
@Bloomberg Could you please elaborate why Marketplace is a mess?
That's a very good Google L3 offer. Just about normal L4
Yeah this. I'm amazed by that offer, sounds like they know they underleveled you?
IDK, I have been hearing it's close to impossible to land l4 at Google with 1.5 yoe
Low-key done with Seattle after this snow storm 😂
Why would you stay in Amazon with those options. Move! I'd pick Uber with their IPO upside but any of those options are way better than where you're at right now.
IPO has upside but is also risky for a business that isn't profitable and has many competitors
Mind me asking how you prepared? Those seem like good offers.
100% honest answer: Two weekends of LC. I guess I'm just good at pattern recognition
Damn. Did you have any experience with leetcode or competitive programming? That is impressive.
mind sharing your interview experience with Uber?
I had a really pleasant experience, 1 coding rounding, 1 algorithm round, 1 system design round, 1 bar raiser round, 1 hiring manager round....pm me for additional questions
Will you have to pay back your signon bonus if you left early
Some of the relocation I'll have to pay but not sign-on, I just lose what I haven't made yet
That's good. Does that mean you get paid signon bonus on monthly basis and not at the beginning of each year ?
Why 0 bonus in Amazon?
Because I only got 1.7% base increase last year, so I'm pretty sure they don't give bonus
