i currently work at lockheed martin for 90k and received a return offer for Amazon Alexa Smart Home (180k TC). How shitty is Alexa right now? I would hate to join and then get laid off six months later. Should I stay with the stable lockheed option?
double TC worth the risk, you can also use being laid off to market yourself on LinkedIn if you got a big enough network
It's double the pay. Worth the risk.
Take it, lockheed, and co will always have positions available.
Do you need to relocate though ? That would suck
yes i would have to relocate but i don’t mind it
You’re smoking dick if you pick Lockheed. I’m desperately trying to get into tech I know what you’re thinking but defense is not as stable as people think - program funding runs out and you’re cooked. Northrop has had 10% layoffs in space program this year and will have more because they lost NGI
I wouldn’t go work at Alexa right now
i wouldn’t either but for 2x TC 🤔
2x comp is great until Alexa gets a cut in 3 months
