I'm currently looking to explore opportunities outside Intel. Does changing LinkedIn status to 'open to work' involve risk of getting fired at your current company, because it essentially means you'll be leaving this company any time soon? I wish to interview elsewhere while keeping my current job obviously.
I wouldn’t do it especially if you’re connected with folks at your company. Just respond to recruiters or ask for referrals via LI or Blind.
You can change it to be visible only to recruiters. Regardless, I would be shocked if anyone actually noticed that at your company and then got you fired for it. You haven't done anything wrong. And if someone did notice it just say "I left that turned on since I joined the company" lol. Fuck the company, fuck management, you don't owe them shit.
Don’t be so scared in life. Yes i did it and I don’t care what my company or fellows thinks
Did it too forgetting I accepted company's recruiters invite moons ago. My manager brought it up in our next 1-1.
How did that turn out? Blind boot
If cought just say i didnt know this.. may be my toddler did it while playing with my phone
Haha
Employers know people can easily look for other jobs. It shouldn’t affect you negatively. I actually got promoted at my previous job after putting that I was open to new opportunities on LinkedIn
If anyone notices, just say you had it turned on from the last time you were job searching (before coming to current company) and forgot to turn it off
Go to amd lol
There's an option to only show your status to recruiters.
Doesn’t work for AWS/Amazon workers 😂
