Asking for friend who has 4 yoe as ror backend engineer. Was senior engineer last year and affected by layoffs last year and has been trying since then. Says there are no ror openings anymore in US, most are getting outsourced. Is there some neighboring tech to ror to learn to be employable again? Or do something else? Please advise. He’s not a rockstar engineer, but average performer , never had any performance issues at any job. He’s ok to take a demotion or pay cut if it helps get back into a reasonable career again. #ruby #rubyonrails #ror
I would practice leetcode in another language. The only indication a company has on how good you are in a language are the interviews. Write the other language on the resume, apply, and show that you are competent enough.
I'm not joking when I say get a part time job and get ready for the long haul. This market sucks
If he is in Austin, apply at procore
Sadly no. In Bay Area
Nvidia used to (and still have) have a bit of rails. I personally knew someone who worked in that part.
Could you DM me a name?
Time machine to 2015?
Yes joke about somebody who’s been laid off 👌
