saving a lot of money but finding bay area quality of life poor. anyone who made the move care to share experiences? im talking about moving to tier 2 cities such as austin, atlanta, boulder, virginia, etc. TC: 220
It was entirely worth it to leave. The Bay Area runs on stress and I’m looking to have a longer lifespan. good luck to everyone moving to the Bay Area in this day and age. It’s a literal housing crisis over there.

Been in Austin 5 months now. Bay Area native. It is okay. We were not living check by check. Was living pretty well in California. It's just now we are saving a lot more than before. And I am having second thoughts about owning a big house. Always thought I wanted that with an acre around it. Updated: I don't miss the bay area. Don't miss the rat race, politics and overcrowding. Just wondering if Austin is the final destination. I do miss the ocean and good selection of ethnic foods found in CA.
This is my fear. I have problems with cities and suburbs and having to use a car to get everywhere. I also hate being surrounded by concrete and strip malls.
Well surrounding areas of Austin are more rural than I thought. And, yes, one will need to drive around here. I actually like real driving. There are stretches of open and empty roads. Not the stop and go found everywhere in Bay Area. The min speed limit is 70+ mph on any freeway here.

Also following this. Really trying to decide whether to sell the house or hold onto it for 2Y or do you be really sure.
Bawwwston and its satellites are pretty comfortable. 45 min drive and you can have a cheap as hell house compared to SF
