Hi Guys, i’m considering an offer at Komodo Health for Data Engineering. Can people share their experience about the company? Work culture? Growth? Is it worth it? Would love to hear your thoughts. TC: 155K
Do. Not. Join.
Why do you say that?
Low comp. No chance of IPO anytime soon. Wlb varies greatly by team. Management is mediocre and wastes ic potential. At the same time, lots of dead weight on many teams.
What's the offer and level? I'd find something more stable. Even in the best of times, the TC was really not that great. KH has Low salary, and equity packages were small. Go to a bigger more established company. KH pays significantly under market rate. Also, there were rumors of an IPO this summer back in march. I'd say the chances of that happening anytime are basically none - high growth, health tech valuations (usually P/Sales) have effectively been cut in half, if not more. Work culture is highly team dependent. Some teams work really hard, some it's just the opposite. On the up side, WLB is great and you don't have to work too hard. If you're hard working and ambitious you can make it work, then again, if you are hard work and ambitious, you can get compensated much better somewhere else.
Not even that, you can be here today working your best with promises from your manager for growth and xyz and be laid off tomorrow with no warning. Stay far away
Not sure what team you're on but that's just false in my experience. If you're laid off, there's a trail of paperwork illustrating your underperformance.
As a former dragon I'll respectfully disagree with euudbbd. I had 2 straight superlative reviews and when COVID hit almost my entire team was laid off. Right after they said at the January LV retreat that we were in great shape. When one door closes another opens, no ill will though, I found a great company and I hope KH does really well so I can sell my vested shares. The founders though are people I would not work for again, I don't trust them or respect the way they treat people.
Any chance of IPO soon?
I think chances are good next year if market conditions stay relatively the same
