WeChat is just a free platform for ppl who wanna write their own opinions. Yes Chinese gov monitor on what ppl write but not forbid them from writing. Just like twitter or Facebook also monitor what ppl post but not stop them from positing. (Unless very appreciate and similar as in China) so if you cannot say the twitter what Trumps tweets no virus is true, you should not say the WeChat is representing China gov.
This is not true. On Twitter you can see thousands of anti-tRump tweets every day but not a single article criticizing xI jiNpiNG on WeChat. WeChat is NOT a free platform. We are Chinese, we all know how this censorship shit works.
There are some articles saying negative side of US but also tons of articles saying positive side too. This ms Li either was paid by NYT or blindly blocked the articles showing positive side of US, otherwise she cannot say some bs like this in this news.

Immigrant here. No such thing as freedom of speech in China. Party line defines your success and survival. Parents worked hard to send me to US for education so I didn’t have to go through what they went through.
