Why are laid off people thanking Meta and Twitter on their LinkedIn post? Why would anyone want to remember the wonderful memories you made there or wonderful people you met there. Companies don’t give a fuck about us and neither should we. Accept the fact and just be straight about it , say fuck off rather than thanking them for all the learnings you got there (which also got you laid off). Can someone please stop this nonsense and stand up to these bullshit companies?
It's an opportunity to find connections for future opportunities. People on Linkedin will let you know if their company or someone they know or hiring. Also, they can understand the current market conditions and be thankful to the company.
Agreed but they can do that without being thankful. I don’t see the point.
I would think the thank you is more about the people than about the company itself.
Yes just thank people then. Please don’t post pictures and be thankful for the “opportunity” they gave you. We gave them the “opportunity” to hire us.
As if the people that are still employed will care about ones who are let go. Chances are they will never even be contacted for a casual meeting after letting go
Formality. After all, LinkedIn is a social network for professionals, not for dumping emotions.
Yes so please just say you are looking for new opportunities. Being thankful is also emotion, please avoid it.
You can have years of a positive experience that ends in a day negatively. Just let people process their unfortunate situation. Look away if it bothers you so much
Please don’t get me wrong. I have high empathy towards the employees but not for the employers.
Let them thank if they want to. You don't have to do it when you're laid off. 😉😎
Yes, i would not say thank you to the employer and certainly wouldn’t post any pictures of workplace. Maybe just say thank you to some mentors and friends.
Please post profanities at them and post a link for us thank you
Grow up? You wouldn’t talk trash about your ex on a date, so why would you talk trash about your former company where your future employer could see it…?
But will you thank your ex on a date, when your ex dumped you and you know how shitty they were?
Not exactly the argument I was making here, buddy. You’re complaining about people posting about their former companies PUBLICLY to other companies. You wouldn’t do that, I guarantee it :-)
Purely self serving. Virtue signaling for their next employer that they are a model employee that the employer can shit on and they will smile and say thanks. Also those posts are shared more and have more reach.
Agreed
Because if they look negative, miserable and full of anger no company would want to hire them. It is mostly for show: of course noone believes that someone that just got fired is in the status of mind of thanking the management behind their termination. I envy them because I wouldn't put such a farce on, but I am also aware that it is the best thing to do.
Agreed. I will thank mentors/friends.

It's hilarious that US is sending aid to a country where every social metric exceeds the US
