i have been looking into a super high end custom pc for a while. kinda like those who wants to own sports cars - i dont have reason to justify of getting one but i think having a behemonth pc is cool. is the list below reasonable? is now a good time to buy or should i wait for the next gen nvidia ampere and next gen threadripper? what would you do if you had a high end desktop? How much RGB?
The only real question
TC? Hard to evaluate this build without knowing your TC.
2 titan man, why only one?
Rtx 8000 > 2 titans
What are you planning on doing with that much RAM?
Solving pi to all its digits
proving PI is a rational number
Dude what are you doing? Just get a g9 and a bunch of rgb everything.
What are you going to do with it? If you compile Android or Chrome from scratch, do some 8k production work, etc, then such a build makes sense. Otherwise, this is overkill.
Thanks i will look into benchmark android source code compiling if i purchase this build
$11k is a great way to build something 10% faster than a $4k build, and 20% faster than a $2k build. With no specific use case, why are you chasing the diminishing returns so hard?
Stop doing things for clout.
Go easy on the op, most people who buy sports cars drive em 7/10s at most. That’s his/her analogy.
Yeah I don't understand either of those categories, cars and pc. Their toys become obsolete so quickly that buying actual real toys like Lego is a better idea. I understand it's just for fun, but it'd be so much better if you invest that in something less environmentally damaging. Or maybe consider refurbishing and donate hardware, or build powerful compute clusters out of used phones and PC
At least sports cars retain value. That PC will retain like 10% of value in 4 years.
Looks great except the monitor, why cheap out on that? Get a couple of g9s so it will be full 5k.
Thanks just checked it out its looks much better
G9s are discontinued currently
