rest and vest investment banking

Do rest and vest companies exist in the world of investment banking? See https://www.teamblind.com/post/What-should-be-my-next-rest-and-vest-company-OuyxHLS4 Basically I interned at Goldman last summer, and it was good stuff, but we were pushing 80+ hours every week. I'm taking a few years off after graduating from college before applying for graduate school in economics (health care focus). I'm looking for a cushy gig. Basically: max 30 hours a week 100-150 TC as few responsibilities as possible Are there any "lifestyle" investment banking firms? The less competitive, least innovative, most niche, unheard of, the better.

Similar work but way less hours, super cushy, not great but workable pay? Ratings companies may be for you (S&P, Moodys)

What about Private Banking?

An asset manager. Pretty cushy, easy hours, some private ones offer equity so you can wait for that to vest.

Investor relations dawg. I'm at a firm, been in IR for 5 years my TC is 140k. Work like 35 hours a week max. I have a degree in biology and 3 years in a lab so it's a learning curve for me that's why TC is lower. Went from $45k in a lab to $85k doing less work in IR. I think next year I'll be closer to $200k.I went to shit no name state school.

Pretty impressive pivot, nice job!

Thanks, was luck I got into it honestly since I had no experience but this small firm just wanted a science guy to write press releases and stuff so it was a fit. Grew over last 4 years a lot and got my series 79 and fully expect to make a lot more now that I have a foot in wall street and run my own clients. It's a fun job, way better than molecular research.

Private Equity is the way. There's still surges during deal closing, but the rest of the time is cake.
