was hired as a 2nd designer (ux/product design) at a startup. the head of design left me a couple months in. now 10 months in and do a shit ton of work. they don’t plan on hiring more designers. what’s a reasonable amt to ask for as a raise? context: have 1.5 yrs of experience. did a bootcamp to get into design. salary a little below 100k. startup super close to series a. located i️n sf
for a the next couple months, yes; there’s a timeline. just want to finish up some things before leaving. but want fair compensation.
Instead of telling them the amount, I would see if they are even open for that discussion. Ask them if they can go higher and see what number they give. What is your plan if they say say no btw? Are you still willing to stay?
yea good advice. i’d start interviewing if they say no. prob give them a months notice and finish up my projects.
What did you do before you worked o. Design for 1.5 yrs?

Shit ton of work but they don't want to hire more designers? And you're the only designer? Are you sure you're okay with that? It's super lonely.
