My linkedin inbox is mostly blank aside from alarm.com tier companies and it used to be overflowing. I also have several years at faang on my resume. I specialize in mobile. Also people keep dming me on blind for referrals from ex meta ex lyft. So it seems the market has fully flipped Tc 220
In this market, they’re only reaching out to the best of the best. Thumbtack ain’t it😂
So does the fact that i work at a start up invalidate my faang experience? I feel like thumbtack is solid, but i guess its not as buzzwordy as stripe and others
It doesn’t invalidate your experience at all. But recruiters are looking for people who are at FAANG currently. The rest of us get overlooked. And hasn’t Thumbtack been around since like 2008? Is it still a start up?
I get several a day but they’re all for 1/3rd my comp in like bumfuck Virginia or Jersey (even worse)
I’d gladly take those offers. How can I get them? I’m at total zero
I get a few a week from third party recruiters but havent had an interview with a company in over a month
I got one for the company I work at. Third party recruiter didn’t even check to see where I worked.
It's not as busy as it was, but I find the ones that I do get are generally higher quality/intent. Very few "we need a senior X engineer" when I don't even have X on my resume (I'm looking at you, Java) Lot of companies, esp. smaller ones, seem to have flipped the script on "we need hyper growth and to be first to market" for "let's build a lean company with senior engineers" It's still a good time to be a senior experienced engineer. I think early career engineers are probably having the hardest time
Yes, frequently. Though the volume is lower than it was 2021-2022, or pre-2020. I used to get at least 3-4 messages every week, either via LinkedIn, or via job search site such as Indeed. Nowadays I get maybe half a dozen per month, or about 1.5 per week. So less than half what I used to get. But yes, I still get hit up by recruiters. I actually had a cold call, just yesterday, from TekSystems. That one was odd, I didn't realize people still used telephones to recruit talent. You might try applying for non-FAANG companies. Look for work offered by non-tech. There are tons of tech jobs in healthcare, finance, logistics, construction, retail, etc. The economy is doing great right now, its just that leaders of Silicon Valley don't know how to capitalize on it. Like I said, I still get bugged by recruiters. What I *DON'T* get anymore are the annoying emails from Amazon. Those dudes used to hit me up at *LEAST* once a month. I don't think I've heard from them in 3-4 months now. There's not a recession, there's just a recession in big tech.
Do any non tech companies besides quant trading firms pay as much as tech and include RSUs?
Some do but its not common, they usually pay less than half the total comp at big tech
I only hear from companies that pay 1/3 of faang salary and usually want RTO and contract to hire with no benefits. Good luck everyone
I would be glad to even get one of those mails. How can I apply to those and get in? I’m at 10k applications, new grad, and searching for a job.
Rough timing for new grads. Good luck mate. Hope you land one soon
Both Meta and Google recruiters have inmailed within last week
Getting one-ish message a week from bodyshop/WITCH recruiters, dead silence from any decent companies for a while now
This
I would be happy to get into WITCH. Tell me how I can get a WITCH offer. I’m 10k applications in and am just desperate for any software job at this point
Got a couple in the past 2 weeks from unknown startups
If you don’t need them, would you please send the emails my way? I’m 10,000 applications in and no interview or job.
