what does this role do? is it still sde but is more of building tools/ services for testing?
Building tools and services for testing would fall under devops. SDET means QA
LOL .. I have never met a Devops person who can properly code
You don’t know anything about SDET so shut your mouth pls, DEOPS is different and some DEVOPS is included in SDET role, I can talk about it for hours but don’t want to waste energy here teaching something who has grains to eat
SDET is building tools and services to promote better automated testing at the bigger level. Outside of writing feature code, a major chunk of time is spent on testing. As a SDET, your job is to enable teams do faster, efficient testing by doing building automation and tools. It involves a lot of infrastructure work as well but it depends on company to company.
Perfectly said
That is 100% true. Also maintaining and reviewing nightly failures as well. Mindset can be summed into a “automate first” and making sure pipelines are reliable and efficient, reduce any possible future events/incidents.

Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
Idk about Docusign but every “software development engineer in test” I’ve seen before has been glorified QA. 0/10 would not recommend
That's literally what it means
