How is comp @ stripe? what an E6/M1 at FB can expect at stripe? context: mission/cluture sounds intersting and might be ready for a change TC:625K
@op are you on Eng or Product side ?
Is it true that Stripe offers are non-negotiable?
Yes, unless you are a superstar. But every rule has an exception. You can still ask for bigger sign-on bonus though. For a bad negotiator like me, this policy is a godsend.
Thank you, this very helpful to know.
Doubt it’ll beat your TC by large margin, maybe able to match? But WLB is much better.
A lot of the recent reviews say WLB heavily depends on manager and if you’re remote or not.
Better WLB when remote, or worse?
About 240k base. $1 - 1.2M in RSU. 20% bonus target. And yes, no negotiating.
What you described is Stripe L4. I don’t think FB E5 maps to Stripe L4 though. Unless OP does super well during the interview it should be L3 here.
The post says E6/M1, which maps to L4/M1.
The mission is just to line patty c's wallet and the culture is just finance bros ignoring all the obvious problems with the company until their stock vests. As for your comp, depends on how much you value the currently worthless RSUs
Not sure why you’d describe illiquid RSUs as worthless. Do you want to sell me yours for $1 each in a side transaction?
I said "currently worthless". They will be worth something some day but at the moment I can't do anything with them. They don't even fully vest until 7 months after IPO. It's all just a guessing game how much they will be worth by then
Is Stripe hiring? How is the interview difficulty level? I recently cleared E5 at FB. But, I did not know Stripe provides good comp with great wlb.
Hiring is greatly reduced but still happening. WLB is definitely not what I would call great. Comp can be good if you believe the stock will actually be worth something but who knows
Thanks for the info @stripe. Hows the market competition in this space? Any plans for go public in a year or so?
WLB varies by team fwiw, I have great WLB
What team are you on?
Wonder how many of the Stripes responding here that they have great WLB are actual PMs (I would be surprised if any). I suggest they go and have a chat with their PMs. All employee surveys amongst PMs give an extremely low score on WLB, and 60hours/week (or more) seem to be the standard. The comp shared here also doesn’t line up with reality; that might be what engineers get at that level, but engineers are paid more. A very low percentage of offers extended to PMs are actually closed because they are so off compared to other companies. And hahaha on “Stripe doesn’t negotiate on offers”
Our PM close rate is very high actually and PM comp is equivalent to eng comp. But yeah they are overworked for sure.
Can you share some pm comp numbers?
Can Stripe Stocks be sold/purchased in secondary market? I would like to buy some if possible.
🍿
I believe some stock trades on different secondary marketplaces.
