US(NYC) Haven Life: 130k base Around 60% of the base as bonus. Canada(Kitchener): Applyboard: 95k base(CAD) Bonus 10% RSU(Non- public):- 30,000/year YOE: 3 I’m on H1b and dont have perm application yet. Canada they are ready to sponsor(LMIA) with that I think it will take 1 year to get PR in Canada. I think work is more or less startup software engineering. Growth opportunity is more in ApplyBoard I think. Canada its stability and in US its money. Not sure what to choose. Your input would be helpful. Poll#
US and apply for perm
Your USA salary looks good. Make it a poll. Many people take Canadian PR as a back up option or just move for a few years till citizenship. Kitchener is a good area to be in.
I am in the exact same dilemma.
Me too, I hate to admit it, but it don't really want to move to Canada leaving US. If I have to, I will only because I have to
If you are indian then people say canada is best option but again I am on the same situation unable to decide between two
You can push Apply Board for over 100k, that was the initial offer without negotiation right?
No initial offer was 80k and pushed to 95
Well done on your negotiation!
If you’re Indian, go to Canada for 4 years, get your passport. Then come to the US to your heart’s content to make $$.
Thats what I’m also thinking. Take the canada PR and come back to US. Or once I have a PR take a remote job in canada from US company.
What makes you think “taking a remote Job” is so easy ?
Living in NYC is kickass and 207k USD is a good TC there. Why would you even consider a shithole like Canada?
I'm from Toronto and you will have a comfortable life making 6 figure in kitchener. If ever you want to move onto another opportunity, Kitchener has companies like square and google or you can move to Toronto to find more.
Uhhh message me. Applyboard isn’t the greatest company. So if only recommend going there if your goal isn’t to stay long term.
