Better company for Product in India (not looking at US), focus on real product culture, Fang resume value High impact team at Flipkart ( TC: 50 L) Office aps team at Microsoft
I work at FK and my husband at Microsoft Blr. Hands down Microsoft it is. Am considering culture, the kind of quality work and ofcourse long term value and earning
Hey, which team at Microsoft? I hear Microsoft product is more of a project management
Currently search connectors and previously Bing search. I don't think it's a project management role. You still own the product, so it involves managing the Devs and getting things done. In Bing it was a very user centric role and right now, the product needs strong technical understanding. We have a networks of friends who are PMs across Az, Uber etc. and this MS has definitely one of the best quality of work and cultures hands down.
Level in Flipkart?
I voted Flipkart and I will explain why. If you want to work on core products and as a Product Manager, you should work on a homegrown Indian company which will provide you better product opportunities. Microsoft will have better WLB and pay, however you will probably work on only maintaining projects and not actual products. I worked in Amazon India as a product manager and in Microsoft India and I was surprised when I moved to US. Almost big products, Azure, AWS, Alexa, Bing are driven in US.
That's a valid point. The projects I work here at Flipkart are very product oriented grounds up; understanding customers, driving long term strategy and execution. My bigger question is about general product culture at Microsoft, I hear a lot it is project management
Which product did you work on in MS India?

Hey man, could you elaborate more? Issues and which team?
It was advertising team which is dissolved now. I didn't like their tech stack much but things might have changed now.
