I see a lot of people posting about total compensation. Base pay, annual stock awards, annual bonus - What else does it include?
Base + cash bonus + annual rsus (at grant price). Basically, what does your W2 say minus sign on bonus and stock appreciation.
It also includes rate of inflation which is under reported by the Fed. You need to learn about the JQ
Jq?
TC = Base + cash bonus + stocks that vest this year only!!! Lots of ppl calculating RSUs and SSA incorrectly in TC. If you get 100k SSA you don’t include that in TC bc it vests over 4 years.
Maybe 401k match? G matches up to 50% so it’s 9k more a year.
So does msft, those little things like 401k, health insurance, ESPP, stay fit, don’t really move the needle that much. Let’s keep it simple. Or we can just say TCW2 which is accurate.
I count 401k match. $9k per year is a payment on a nice car.
Amazon folks sometimes will include signon bonus with their TC. It's stretched over 2 years to lessen the impact of 5,15,40,40 vesting schedule. No such thing as annual bonus there.
That’s all.
