hi, im a graduating senior from UC berkeley with a degree in data science. i was referred to twitter for the 2020 internship and new grad opportunities, and i completed the coding challenge and passed all the test cases. what do i do now? i received an email saying that Twitter was "excited to continue my candidacy" but thats kind of cryptic and im not sure what i can do at this stage to get an interview. any advice would be greatly appreciated, im interested in Data Science/analyst and Machine learning roles. thanks!
How about using your UC Berkeley connections instead of waiting on Twitter. G and Apple are full for this year iirc. Amazon and MS may still have spots open. Can also try datadog
Yeap got the same mail. Think it’s a mass send.
Ah Twitter new grad. I hate to say it, but you wait amidst a bucket of other interns/new grad candidates who dutifully completed the coding challenge with flying colors while they interview others who didn't even do the coding assessment. Twitter's recruitment process is a joke - they're "excited to consider" others who do less than you. Don't waste your time. Try somewhere else. If you need suggestions, DM me and I'm happy to chat. Experience: Applied September last year, got an interview invite in February after I signed a better offer. Previous years, 100% on coding challenge year after year, rejection in March. My friend on the other hand didn't even do the OA and got an interview a couple days after applying
So then how do they evaluate candidates to move through the funnel??? I have both a referral and completed the coding challenge 100%. I would love to consider Amazon btw but idk if they have new grad data roles
Good question. I bet they hire based on random resume screens. I would tell you if I knew, but I don't. Maybe the Twitter recruitment folks can correct me. Try Fb or G! Or Dm me for smaller company suggestions. Don't waste your talent or time, it's valuable
