which should I pick
Bloomberg for chill wlb and amazon for fast learning.
Amazon call also be fast firefighter
Frankly, you have nothing to learn in Amazon. Basically, ppl here are software program managers or fire fighters. Seniors SDEs usually do not have strong engineer knowledge as well. They are just document writers. Find real engineers outside of Amazon.
Where do you live now? Where do you want to live? Big difference london vs seattle.
Providence
Personally i didnt like seattle but this is a big decision and matters more than company imo. Have you ever been to the uk?
You couldn't pay me 270 to work at Amazon
You can’t pay any IC over 300k at BBG period. At least Amazon allows you to grow past 2 IC levels.
Lol what? There are plenty of ICs making over 300. It's so funny how you said that to someone who works there with such confidence
Go UK, too many in US
Do you care about col?
Yoe?
You'll have a wide set of tools, tech and process exposure at Amazon. It's also good to have big tech on your resume when you're starting out. If location isn't a deal breaker for you then choose Amazon.
Effective tax rate in London will be about 40% compared to 25% in Seattle.
But they’ll have about 4 weeks of PTO from start in the UK, in the US lucky if they get 2 and you don’t get additional year until after a few years.
Yeah, both US and UK have their own pros/cons. I'm just saying strictly $$$ wise after taxes US comes out ahead.
Why not bbg nyc? I think you can transfer after London too.
Right. After a year abroad, they can come to the US on an L1 visa
Really only one year?
Isn’t that a low L4 offer?
Why is that helpful
Nvm. TIL L4 in Amazon is SDE 1
