SWE jobs are indeed under a medium-long term threat. Gemini Pro 1.5 destroyed GPT 4 Turbo on large codebases.

I held a belief until recently that SWE jobs are not under threat in short to medium term and that my career will likely outlast potential major advancements in AI that could make my skillset obsolete but jeez the future is here. Gemini Pro 1.5 seems to be scary good on large codebases already. We haven't even entered the Gemini Ultra 1.5 territory yet. AI/ML and Tech leaders: Any suggestions are most welcome. #google #gemini #openai #gpt
