Is it worth to join enterprise storage company?

Had an offer for a sales role in an enterprise primary storage company. Leader in Gartner magic quadrant Is this part of tech still thriving? Considering HCI, cloud, will enterprise storage market still gain more market share? I felt they are already losing market share due to HCI and cloud. TC:270k Yoe: 8

Which company? Most storage companies have flatlined, not a bad place or industry to work in by any means but their stocks dont move much. Im talking NetApp, Pure, Nutanix, etc

Pure

Customers love the product. Do some research on it (I'm too biased to give you accurate numbers). Growth has been steady, yet good. Stock has been growing as well. AI has pushed the growth of Pure, as some companies have adopted it to push their AI initiatives. It was the first major storage company to be Nvidia certified for example. The market is growing too. Storage is always needed, especially in the AI boom, and cloud will only partially satisfy it. For those that use cloud regularly, you know that cost and latency only means it can satisfy only certain requirements. And if latency is not an issue, Pure isn't the right system anyway. Pure has done well except in the Enterprise, and that's, well, because it's tough to penetrate Enterprise sales. If you have the ability to go into a major Enterprise and convince them to reevaluate their storage solution, you would have the top product to sell them and can make a killing. But that's the tough part. Do you have that established connections within the enterprise? Is your rolodex powerful enough? Industry growth is there. Company growth is there. Product is best in class in terms of performance and customer satisfaction. If you can extend that to the untapped Enterprise market, you can make a killing. And in a side note, though I can only speak from the Engineering side, Pure is the best place I have ever worked at in my 20 year career.

I’ve worked for two storage companies in my career and they have been the most lucrative places I’ve worked.

Storage company have always been lucrative since many years back. But now market size seems to be shrinking with adoption from HCI and cloud. The AI rush seems to be the bet to make it or break it.
