Sending good vibes to those who were affected by the WarnerMedia layoff. Hopefully the Blind community can help with referrals - my heart goes out to those affected #layoff
Do we know if the layoffs are done? Does everyone being laid off know? The email from Kilar says that it was STARTING today in North America. It is unclear whether that means he is just starting in North America today and it will go on for a few days, or if that means he is doing North America all today and other regions later. Considering how much of a clusterfuck this has been, I have no faith with it being over in one day.
As far as I know it’s just this week and nothing after that... mostly nothing after today! Although there might be huge contractor layoff next month
Well that’s a relief. Although the way it was handled was awful. This has been a dark cloud on us for so long. And even now to have the ambiguous email today and the town hall tomorrow. Why not all in one day?
I survived, but lost some good friends on the animation side. Most had been with the company for 15+ years. I’m curious what the severance package looks like for that many years of service.
I hope they get more than 2 weeks every yr of service
Survived. What orgs had cuts?
On the animation side, folks in development, current series, finance, & business affairs. LA and Atlanta. That’s just people I know personally. There were lots more all over WarnerMedia
Is reorg completed ? Layoffs emails are out or going to be tomorrow?
For the Kids Young Adult & Classics group, yes. They’re done for now.
Pretty deep cuts at FS. Sounds like those of us left around are gonna be scattered throughout WM. Not super excited about that.
Survived. First layoff I've ever went through. So many good people are let go and I'm feeling mentally exhausted.
US layoffs are over, I think, international layoffs are happening soon.
Is HBO Max affected? Might interview for a product role there soon
The engineering department? Yes
Survived... but thanks for the good vibes... much needed at this time... this was the last round of layoff... so no more blood bath
It’s never the last round with this management FYI
