Its truly heartbreaking, I can’t work. I can’t focus, isn’t there anyone who can convince Israel to stop Raffah invasion
Does anyone know much about FIS new innovation and incubation teams based out of Denver?
I interviewed and received an offer there. Would avoid. So many red flags. This is a bit of a rant because of how annoying my experience with them was... First off, nearly everyone I spoke with had little to no real experience. Mostly fresh MBA grads who had a couple years at big4 consulting as analysts. No real product experience, no digital experience. They literally were bragging about their MBA case studies of Bumble etc in interviews 😂. No one has shipped any products, let alone financial ones. One the people interviewing claimed he set up a huge innovation center at a big4, which I verified with my network, and found out it was a total failure and was shuttered. Everyone just seem way up-leveled for their experience. Second, the interview style was the most asinine I've ever seen. Pure dumb behavioral questions "Would you lie for your company?" "Describe a time you saw unethical behavior" "Describe a time you failed". They will only accept pure STAR responses. Literally had multiple interviews say "Hey can you more clearly put this in the STAR format, its how we take notes". It was like being interviewed by a robot reading a script. Any deviation completely flustered them. Only thing they were comfortable about was bragging about their undergrad (mostly ivys) and MBAs (mostly top20) or bashing FIS core as a company. Very obsessed with differentiating their innovation group from the main company. Finally, and most annoyingly, their offer was below what we initially discussed. I made it very clear what my salary needs were with the recruiter. Recruiter confirmed it was above their range but they could do it. Spent maybe 10 hours with their bullshit interviews. And they came in below it and were shocked I immediately turned it down. Tried to counter for a bit more, but still less than my initial ask. and were again baffled when I rejected it. Wasted my time.
Wow - thanks for taking the time to type up your experience, definitely helpful. Can I dm you to check to see if this was a similar role/team to the one they approached me about? Also if they were able to meet your Salary expectations would you have accepted? Would be curious to know the role and offer they ended up giving you.
Sure, feel free to DM. I was also recruited off of linkedin, but they had 2 JDs: PM for a "new venture" and PM for innovation group., guessing its the same. They are also posted as BCG digital ventures. After the final interviews I had already decided I wasn't going to go for it even if they met the salary. Just didn't see any upside to working there from a career POV.
Yoooo this was my experience too?! Dm me
I'm a PM there now if anyone still has questions.
On the innovation team? How is it over there? We haven’t seen anything out of your team 😂
Oh ha! No I am on the merchant side. I have seen a new checkout shopping cart go to market from them. But other than that... agreed have not seen much. I like some of the team over there for sure. But it will be interesting if they stay a thing or not.
Interviewed for the Strategy and Operations Manager for New Venture. Not only was it the most time intensive interview process, two 30 minute meetings followed by five 1 hour behavioral interviews using the STAR method. After completing investing 7 hours of time (interviews + prep) and effort completing the final round, they sent the most backhanded rejection email. Would NOT recommend.
ROFL what did they say
Had a very similar experience. Went through with 4-5 interviews with different managers and one senior team member. The recruiter kept assuring me that they made a decision and would let me know the details of the offer by EOW. Oh she lied! She didn’t even have the decency to reach out to me again. Only to receive an email 1 month later that the position was canceled 🤦🏻♀️. Wasted my time . Would not recommend
I saw a bunch of internal job postings but not sure what they're up to.
How do you like the company?
Honestly a bit meh. But then again I'm on infrastructure side and I see the shift to cloud coming. The company is so huge it's hard to get things done. They're pushing hard this year to ditch all legacy stuff that is slowing us down but it's all very entrenched.
