Wealthsimple, valued at $4B last year, joins the fintech layoffs list
If you're at Wealthsimple and looking for a new job in Canada - my company is hiring a lot in Canada for a competitive TC, our stock is doing well
Hey just got laid off, DMing you
Ditto. Can DM me as well. I’m with a fintech startup looking to hire a few senior engineers. Stack is all JS.
Are wealthfront and betterment next?
Banks are next
@Shopify Shopify is next
I almost joined them earlier this year. They offered me double my current salary but I was too worried about leaving a stable company for a startup. Chasing higher TC isn't always the right move (unless it's a FAANG, in which case it's TC + brand name). I hope their laid off employees find something else fast
Isn't Nuance under Microsoft now? Any TC bumps + MSFT stock? I was always curious about how Nuance TC is, I love their ML projects
No TC bumps. Nuance is known for paying peanuts unfortunately... don't know if that's gonna change in the future though. Personally, I think layoffs will happen here as well in my division, just dont know when
Yea, lots of companies go through shit these days. There is only a few who still look solid.
Sometimes when things don’t go out way we wonder why, but God always has a plan. My wife was rejected a month ago for no good reason after their final round of interviews, we were disappointed but ultimately thought it was for a reason - maybe this is the reason 🤷
Likely cause they went into hiring freeze last month
I was in the same boat buddy! They told me it was heir freeze tho
