Joe Biden said everyone will get vaccinated by May. Does that mean we will all be going back to the office soon?
GTFO
This tc or gtfo thing last used to be funny in 2016
There's a difference between "will be eligible for vaccination" and "will get vaccinated" if you don't read things with your ass. But to your question, yes full WFH will end and some companies will adapt to hybrid, even less will do 100% WFH. So yes many will be back to the office. Both my and my SO's companies want employees back by September
Too many companies hired fully remote employees in different states for it to ever go back to "normal".
Just saying, any remote employees are going to be disadvantaged versus ones that are in the office if the company does a hybrid approach or has some teams in office vs others working fully remote.
Some companies are now 100% remote
And they’ll be 100% remote until the end of human civilization yes?
Can’t predict the future
Assume the US has 350 million people. In general, two vaccine doses are required per person. 700 million total doses needed. 100 million applied thus far. 600 million to go. Current record is ~3m doses / day. If this continues linearly, we will need 200 days. That’s a little under 7 months. That’ll be by October. Pushing the timeline earlier could be due to: 1. Faster execution on doses 2. JNJ vaccine is single dose May I think is too optimistic, given that’s two months from now and I doubt we’ll vaccinate at a high enough pace.
That is only assuming everyone needs to be vaccinated in order for this to be “under control”. Is the end state zero cases or zero deaths or even zero serious illnesses. My belief is that most places will fully open once deaths are effectively zero and anyone who needs and wants a vaccine can get one.
Nope the math is wrong. Only around 240 million are eligible for the vaccine( rest are under 18). 10% will refuse (or) can’t take the vaccine due to medical conditions - so approximately 215 million 215*2 is 430 million shots needed But America has 100 million Jans J vaccines which are one shot vaccines. So really you only need around 330 million shots. 110 million shots are given out already. At the rate of 3 million a day in another 3 months everyone will be covered Hence 4th of July will be lit
Hopefully!
Lots of companies are gonna drag their feet hard and encourage more WFH at minimum. Full WFH saves them a lot of money in office space rent and upkeep as well as all the incidentals like having to pay out commuter benefits or provide food.
Some companies don't provide food - it's not a big deal really.
Nope, people are coming back. There’s no saving either way and working isn’t getting done.
Most companies are heading hybrid if not fully remote. It’s about time the industry adopts alternative means of getting work done than a one size fits all mentality.
I don’t think they can allow full capacity to work on-site even after all got vaccination. Maybe take turns to WFH.
I never want to see the office again due to commute and having to dress up every day. Mostly commute and having to get up at the crack of dawn. Boomers need to finally retire.
I'm a boomer and am fine with full-time wfh. Are you saying boomers want to drive into an office?
Your problem isn't the boomers, most are fellow workers. It is the management chain that thinks they need to oversee and control us, despite ample evidence of productivity increasing under WFH.
My momma said I am smart and handsome.
Please don’t. Love wfh and love the highway no traffic
No one gives a shit what you or I love. Managers will make everyone in-office by end of year. Apple is already planning 50% return in Q3.
That means they didn’t learn anything
