SAP it seems is struggling in the enterprise s/w space. Doesnt look like a growth stock. Any thouhts on if the stock price might ncrease in 1-2 yr. seriously thinking of exiting my sap espp.
ESPP is a no brainer. For most companies it's an instant 15% gain on day of distribution. Just sell it on the day you get them (with a Limit Order so it hopefully sells at the price you got it at). Your company and your stock company (I.e. Fidelity, Etrade, etc) will send you a reminder email when they distribute. I know there's a bigger tax law hit if you don't hold onto stocks for 1 year, but so what? You make a little less, but at least you get rid of a staid stock and can invest your gains in a more reliable S&P ETF.
SAP ESPP is a 40% discount. You'd be insane not to max it out.
You don't optimize for taxes. You'll pay zero taxes if you lose money. Sell if you don't believe
