Which companies have easy PM interviews?

I am eager to switch jobs. I am already a PM, so getting product manager interview calls is not a problem. But I have no motivation to prepare for all the annoying PM questions on exponent etc. Are there companies where I can get in through behavioral interviews and talking about my actual work experience than having to do case studies, estimation questions and brain teasers? TC: $250k

If the interviews are easy, then the job most probably is going to be shit.

The job is shit anyway

Wayfair lazypmhere OP Mar 2, 2022

Interviews are sales pitches, not an accurate representation of what the job will entail

Citibank xxx234 Mar 2, 2022

I think rather than saying easy, your second half of the post makes more sense which is talking about work experience and question regarding what you have done in your career.

Can I get a PM job at Citibank by just talking about my experience in interviews?

Citibank xxx234 Mar 2, 2022

Yupp and a little bit of product sense but..and no one will penalize you for not following the CIRCLES method or STAR blah blah as long as your answers make sense!

Goldman Sachs Xoxog Mar 2, 2022

Maybe @xxx234 can speak on their experience but I wouldn’t recommend doing PM at a traditional bank, except maybe the bank has some incubator program or an org that was built separate from the rest of the bank. Banking culture is very stifling to innovation and proper product culture. Be careful not to go two steps background when you’re just trying to go forward

But promotions are more certain and timely in banks right? In tech companies, one could stay at a level forever.

Goldman Sachs Xoxog Mar 2, 2022

I guess at the end of the day, it’s what you’re looking for. Promotions to me are meaningless if I’m constantly frustrated at how shitty the product ends up becoming because environment doesn’t support good practices. Plus it’s not like those promotions transcribe to anything outside of the banking sector. We don’t have the L4 etc that tech companies do, and tech companies are usually wary of hiring people(esp senior people) from more traditional sectors like banking due to concerns of how much they need to “unlearn”

Salesforce pays well and is mainly behavioral

Warner Bros. HQGp67 Mar 3, 2022

What is product at Microsoft like?

CIBC tillywogz Mar 3, 2022

Hm... My toughest case PM interview was from them

Kaiser Permanente Skeletor1 Mar 2, 2022

Problem in dealing with engineers is that there will always be 1000 questions. BC first 20 comments have zero helpful answers

None of the good ones

AMEX & JLL was a walk in the park. ServiceNow was kinda hard.

Amazon gogetitboy Mar 3, 2022

Why do you want to move out of Wayfair? You will have a very hard time finding companies which matches or beats your tc , if you are only targeting companies which have a relaxed interview process.

Wayfair lazypmhere OP Mar 3, 2022

Beating $250k TC is hard?

Amazon is all behavioural

DoorDash Bananass! Mar 3, 2022

Not true, albeit mostly behavioral

Amazon Tslt27 Mar 3, 2022

I second Amazon. Even if not "easy" I think the interview is the easiest to prepare for and the most predictable one.

Google brian1 Mar 3, 2022

lol I wouldn’t hire you with this attitude

Amazon gogetitboy Mar 3, 2022

He said he wants easy interviews, lol where in the world google interview became easy

Squarespace zyqg86 Mar 3, 2022

Fair but you work for Google. The guy is at least being honest. He wants a change and doesn’t feel like doing a ton of interview prep. I think it’s a fair question, he’s not trying to sneak into a great company
