Interviewed with @KeepTruckin recently for a backend position and they came back with an offer quickly. Position: Senior Software Engineer Compensation: 175K + 15% bonus + 16K options @ current FMV (Standard 4 year cliff vesting.). TOE: 10 years My current compensation is a sum total of 166K. Have a Principal role in current org but not too concerned about the 'demotion'. Benefits are comparable, so, not a factor. Liked the work they do and the people I met but is it worth joining for this little a raise?

What’s preferred stock price now? Seems like an ok deal.
It all depends on what you were making. If you got a good jump, I think you should be happy. Company is highly rated on Glassdoor and ceo is highly rated too. It appears that they have good wlb and unlimited holidays. Do you plan on using this offer to negotiate other offers or just casually interviewing. It’s probably miles better than meltwater. Never heard about meltwater. Also freight is looking like next big thing considering how ancient current methods are. Also if you are too worried about titles much, startup is not a place for you.
Thanks for the pointers. Agree with you broadly. Not in a position to interview more and negotiate any further.
Happy to answer questions
How's the environment overall? How interesting are technical problems? How much are they paying?
Any pointers on what was asked in the on site interview for back end developers
did you end up joining?
1. Why do you want to leave? 2. Do you think your next promotion will surpass this? 3. Relocation? Different tech stack? WLB?
Thanks for replying. 1. I started looking before my very recent promotion. Career progression was the main factor. I suppose it doesn't feel the same any more after recent changes. 2. Possibly not but will come close to this offer. (Actually, considering I do not have a bonus right now and will be getting some, this is not looking that bad.) 3. No relocation, same tech stack and similar work. My WLB is pretty good now (rules are okayish but been here a long time so I have some leeeway). Need to get more information on their WLB. Thanks for the pointers.
What kind of rules you have? Just curious.
