From FAANG to Cloudflare

Hey y’all, I’m debating whether to take an offer from Cloudflare and would love your feedback. I’m at a bigger tech company at the moment with relative job stability and stock appreciation, but I don’t feel fulfilled in my role. Cloudflare is able to match my target TC and the role is interesting; however, I know they PIP and do layoffs randomly, within months of start dates. It’s mostly sales and BD that are affected so I’m not sure whether I should be concerned. It also looks like most of my interviewers have been at the company less than 2 years. What are your thoughts—should I gamble and move to Cloudflare or stick it out in a FAANG for a few more months? Love cloud flares products, but the bar seems pretty high there. Don't think I'd make it. 🍿

Sorry is this sarcasm? Genuinely not following your comment…

Don’t! Just don’t! If you ok with a job with no annual bonus, no 401k match, bad healthcare insurance options with bad deductibles, no benefits like gym membership, bad culture , bad refresher after 2 years staying at the company, no clear path for promotions and getting a raise since there is no process for it! Then join!

Oh I shoot, I didn’t know about lack of benefits…no annual bonus, no 401k match, and not good insurance?!

Cloudflare culture does not value employees

I know people that were there for many years and left because it became toxic or because their share value fell so much. Potentially interrelated.

Cloudflare WOju67 Mar 26

Absolutely not. It’s obscene that Cloudflare is still hiring while actively doing layoffs. I had a friend who was hitting their sales targets and still got put on PIP. I’ve seen it happen to non-sales people too.
