I have seen a lot of negative posts on blind but wanted to share something different. I come from very humble background family based in India. While growing up I have seen my dad working very hard to meet mine and my younger brothers demand. Of course we had money to have basic needs but didn't have to live lavish lifestyle. Most of my cousins, uncle, aunt and friends were boasting their lifestyle everyday in front of my parents. Each one of them went abroad for higher studies after graduation but I didn't since I knew it will be a very big burden on my family. My dad did offer me to send abroad by selling his house which I denied. I was in a relationship during my graduation but she also left because she got proposal through his family from a guy who was settled abroad. But I never let myself down. After completing graduation I was selected in one of the biggest IT company of India through college placement. I met love of my life (my wife) there. We(me and my gf/wife now) worked really hard and switched to different companies in India. Then got married. Same time my younger brother completed his graduation and he also was placed in the same company from where I started my journey. I always knew my brother wanted to go for higher studies after graduation so I asked him to go abroad and I will help him financially. Finally he went to abroad for higher studies. Me and my wife were also planning to shift to abroad for better life and money. We were looking for different options to shift and finally after 2 years of research we shifted. Left our high paying jobs in India and came here to start from zero. Started working hard again to find job here and after interviewing for ~1 month we both got jobs in well known company with decent pay. Worked hard for next 1 year in our current job we both switched to Tier-1 companies with high TC. When I came to this new country most of my cousins and friends were demotivating us that this is not like India and you have to work very hard to earn money and max TC you can get is 75-80K. Currently both me and my wife are sitting at ~275K. My younger brother and our parents always supported us in our journey. This year me and my brother both bought million dollar house here and those friends and cousins are still struggling to settle here even though they came 10 years back. I am not downgrading them but life is a full circle. Most of them asks for my help whenever they need money for buying or paying of mortgage. I do help them whenever possible and I am still that humble guy because I know how it feels if someone doesn't treat you well because of your bank balance. My parents shifted here and are living happily. I can see the proud in their eyes. PS : If you are hardworking hold on to your seat and your time will come. Karma is b**ch. APNA TIME AAYEGA My wife, I am not sure if you are reading this but I am lucky to have you. TC : 280K YOE : 9 #engineering #software #swe
Happy to read n really great job dude. One thing curious y to get in a rat race to move abroad if others do. Happiness is everywhere n money as well , just level of satisfaction depends

cringe 🤮
I think you were on the other side.
Damn, crazy. My story resembles yours a little. I think it’s important to understand the lesson here (don’t listen to people too much, do what YOU think is right)
and that actually motivated me :)
Congratulations, glad that you and your family is happy.
Congrats. Tldr; money can give you a better start but how far you go from there depends on you.
Hard work pays off, good story Is it normal to ask for money to pay mortgage? I can understand folks back home asking for help but middle class?? Seems shameless
like for line of credit, down payments, booking flights, trips.
