I dunno what we Indians are thinking when we talk about becoming a superpower and technology and shit. The harsh reality is all the major advancements happening in tech are in the west, be it pushing boundaries of AI, computing, software, services, neuralink, etc. while the best thing India has in AI is Krutrim which raised $50 million at a unicorn valuation. I think its great someone is investing in AI but look at what they made, a fucking llm which is worse than open source models out there. I understand that more AI investment is needed but investors in india are highly discriminatory and will not favour u if you are not in the elite network in india. U could have the best idea in college to launch a startup and whatnot, but the investors will never invest in you, it's better off if u pitch to US investors in the tech space. Until this changes and people actually make something useful in india (not a clone, if a clone it should be better) the tech landscape will remain shit af. Also in semiconductor manufacturing we are going to make in india while heavily subsidizing old chip(28nm) while the latest phones/devices use under 5nm and under 10nm for lower priced devices as well. 28nm is old tech if we are being real. It's good for first steps but i don't think india will truly work on cutting edge tech in our lifetimes. #tech #startup #India #AI
