Got an offer from one of them for a non-tech role. I expect my current company and team to have little to no impact in terms of layoffs, mostly because of the field of work, but the role at one of the FM companies is more exciting in terms of scope of work.
Very informative. I appreciate your advice.
Was curious about the same. May I ask which team/type of role you got an offer for? I am recently feeling cold shoulders from my applications there ... normally I would get a HR call and a hiring manager interview but this time it's all quiet. I wonder if they are getting ready for layoffs soon.
If you are a full-time, you should be fine. Both Fannie and Freddie had a strong Q1.
I don't recommend to join either of them. They pay peanuts and extract more work. Join capital pay. Atleast they pay more with good sign on and bonus.

Ways to reduce stress immediately
A close friend is an IT manager at Freddie Mac. His team relies heavily upon contractors and did let several of them go a few months ago. The FTEs have more stability. Both Freddie and Fannie are visa-holder friendly.
Thank you!
