Blinders, I require your assistance. Help a fellow out on evaluating offer.
I got hired recently also as an L5 and got: Base: 187k Sign on bonus: 35k Yearly bonus: 15% GRSUS: $440 In NYC with almost 15YOE I was borderline L6 but ended up accepting an L5 role in a team with potential for growth I think if you negotiate you could go a bit higher with your sign on and GRSUs Congrats anyways and welcome!
Agree that you should always negotiate. As an fyi, Google isn’t known for promo velocity and L4 is considered terminal level, so unless your manager has a track record of growing reports to L6 and supports your growth, and your team’s product has high impact, you may have to go to a different company to get to L6 in a timely fashion.
Thanks so much @google @meta.
Your offer is around middle of band. That said, even if your offer was top of band, you should always negotiate. I recently started a new job (not Google) and negotiated an offer that was significantly higher than the top of their band.

10+ yoe and l5?
Not everyone gets into big tech straight out of school and gets promoted quickly. Not very many people break into L6+ in general for that matter.
